Yay after what feels like forever since I made this site I finally get to do what I've been excited for, the blogging part! AKA I just ramble and you read it all! Or not- it's your choice, and thats this best part :)
So new years has come along and it's now 2025! The year humans will have sex with robots apparently... I mean I'm not complaining ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) . And, as the title foretold, I had a very sonic-themed new year! Which is awesome because I freaking love sonic, but that's for another blog post.
I guess a more fitting title would be "A Very Sonic End of The Year" because this story starts on the 24th of Decemeber, a day with no relevance to me because I don't celebrate christmas nor live in a country that does lol. I sat down with my family to watch the long awaited Sonic 3! (Don't worry, no spoilers.) Of course very legally... okay maybe not but what was I supposed to do, it wasn't showing literally anywhere in all of Africa! Trust me, I would've been willing to go across countries if they'd at least shown it in my contintent! But anyways, the movie was AWESOME and it definitely rekindled my lifelong love for the sonic series and set the theme for the rest of the year. (Also it didn't help that 2024 was the year of shadow.)
Then since Steam was having a winter sale and my dad got me and my younger brother a gift card, I decided to go on a game haul! I got four new games, which is the most I've ever bought at once methinks. They weren't too expensive, totaling to a little under $25. Two of those games being the Sonic Adventure duology! Now you may be wondering: how the hell did I survive being a Sonic fan since I was literally three years old yet never played these games, that are considered the best in the series by many?! And honestly, I DON'T KNOW EITHER! I asked for these games many times and only now did I have the money to buy them, (thanks to my parents for having nice jobs now!) Before, when I was younger, I only had the demo/trial for the games, you don't even wanna know how many times I've played City Escape and Emerald Coast, those zones are baked into my brain. (The OST is playing in my brain just from typing it.) It's surprising how many games I have yet to play myself... I need a job now...
So I played a bunch of SA and SA2 and have a blast, and of course shared these games with my younger brother, and my older brother I guess if he wants to play them. I don't know if he does since he doesn't live with us anymore lmao. I'm also drawing and animating a lot of sonic things but I'll get to that later. Come time of New Years Eve, which in my opinion is more eventful than New Years itself. My mom was going to take us to a restaurant but we decided to just hit up a convience store and take out to load up on snacks and pizza. Hey, might as well be unhealthy before the New Year right? (On a side note, I hate when people say "I'll start on the New Year" or "I'll start on x date" It's really annoying, just start now. Your life will be much better.) And me and my younger brother decided to binge watch as many episodes of Sonic Prime as we could before midnight. I think we watched for like 4 hours O.o . We didn't finish it but we had such a fun time, and I genuinely love this cartoon. I'd say it's my second favorite Sonic cartoon, with Sonic X obviously being the first.
After watching more Sonic than the average person should consume in one sitting, we had some time to spare before the countdown so why not play some SA2 two player mode? We played the battle mode, me playing as Sonic and my little brother playing as Shadow. I usually demolish him when it comes to Sonic Mania and he admittedly kicks my butt in Sonic 3, (there's no switch-a-roos to screw him over with.) But when it came to SA2's battle mode (I think that's what it's called) it was neck and neck, since 3D Sonic is a whole other beast compared to 2D Sonic games, I need more practice... It was so fun though, the abilities Sonic and Shadow could use were really fun to play with, and were hilarious if you timed them right! Then while we were playing, our older brother called us about the countdown and turns out, we missed it! 2025 had came by before I even noticed! So that was technically the first thing I did this year, play Sonic Adventure 2. That makes me optimistic for this year!
In conclucsion, I've been doing a bunch of Sonic things recently. My love will probably never die for this series, and my mother's disappointment probably won't either. Some honorable mentions include
I'm very thankful that my year has been going well so far and that I'm in such a lucky posiition in life. I didn't think life would be this bright just a few months ago. But as Allah said "فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا" (So, surely with hardship comes ease.) 94:5.
